Who Can Join?

TEDxUofM is open to all! We welcome students of any major and background. It takes an extensive knowledge base to pull of a TEDx conference, and the more diversity in thought and interest, the better.

You are welcome to join as many subteams as you would like. Subteams typically meet once a week in addition to our weekly general team meetings (Tuesdays 7-8pm in East Quad 1423).

Our Subteams

Attendee Experience: Create the TEDx experience with audience activities, conference theme, performers, and the conference venue.

Community Engagement: Host salons (discussion-based TEDx events), bookclubs, adventures, and lots of other events to connect our TEDx team and the community.

Creative Design: Design and brainstorm visual assets for TEDxUofM through graphic design, video production, photography, and much more!

Finance: Recruit sponsors, apply for grants, and plan and execute fundraising events to finance the conference.

Marketing: Promote TEDxUofM events through innovative marketing activities and by creating engaging advertising/social media content.

Partnerships: Aquire external partners for conferences, both monetary and non-monetary, and help other subteams have cool opportunities to collaborate with local and global companies!

Speakers: Recruit and prepare speakers for their TEDx Talks.
